Terms and conditions

By signing the rental agreement or by paying the (advance) invoice, the hirer accepts the terms and conditions.

For rentals and day trips

  • The hirer and/or the driver must hold a category B driving licence valid in Belgium on the day of the ride. There is no minimum age and no minimum period of holding a licence; the hirer declares this in the rental contract.
  • At the start of the rental, a rental agreement will be completed and signed by the hirer on site.
  • Private customers pay the full amount when booking online. Companies receive an advance invoice for 25% after confirmation.
  • The hirer pays a deposit of € 300, online via Mollie. The link is in the automatic confirmation email; a reminder follows after 10 days.
  • This deposit will be refunded in full if the car(s) are returned at the agreed time in the same condition as at departure.
  • The car is rented for normal use.
  • The hirer undertakes to use the rented car as a prudent and reasonable person ("goede huisvader"). The hirer undertakes to use the rented car in accordance with the contractual provisions and with the legislation in force, including traffic regulations.
  • As standard, there is comprehensive insurance with an excess of € 2000 excl. VAT per claim. All occupants, including the driver, are covered by this insurance. With comprehensive-plus, the excess is reduced to € 500 excl. VAT per claim.
  • In the event of damage caused by gross negligence (careless driving), this deposit will be withheld and all costs are borne by the hirer, up to a maximum of € 12.000 incl. VAT per 2CV / Dyane or € 20.000 incl. VAT for a Méhari.
  • If the agreed rental period is exceeded on a full-day or half-day rental, an additional charge of € 50 incl. VAT applies per hour started for late return of the car.
  • The hirer may cancel the booking, on the understanding that for cancellation up to one month before the booked date 50% of the rental price will be refunded, and for cancellation up to two weeks before the booked date 25% of the rental price.
  • 2CV&CO reserves the right to cancel the booking at any time because of weather conditions (this applies to freezing temperatures, black ice, snow, hail, storms, heavy rain ... anything dangerous for the hirer and the cars). The rental period is then moved to a later date in consultation.
  • If you break down on the road, call the number on the key ring of the car key. We will help you by phone or on the spot, depending on the nature of the breakdown.

For team building

  • Drivers must hold a valid category B driving licence.
  • The cars are rented for normal use.
  • The customer undertakes that the rented cars will be used by the drivers as a prudent and reasonable person ("goede huisvader"). The customer undertakes to use the rented car in accordance with the contractual provisions and with the legislation in force, including traffic regulations.
  • As standard, there is comprehensive insurance with an excess of € 2000 excl. VAT per claim. All occupants, including the driver, are covered by this insurance. By paying an extra € 50 per car, the excess can be reduced to € 500.
  • In the event of damage caused by gross negligence (careless driving), all costs are borne by the customer, up to a maximum of € 14.000 incl. VAT per 2CV.
  • 2CV&CO reserves the right to cancel the booking at any time because of weather conditions (this applies to freezing temperatures, black ice, snow, hail, storms, heavy rain ... anything dangerous for the hirer and the cars). The rental period is then moved to a later date in consultation.
  • After booking, you will receive an advance invoice for 25% of the total amount. Payment of the advance invoice confirms your booking.
  • Bringing your own drinks and/or food to our location is not permitted. We offer catering on site (breakfast, sandwich lunch, hot meal). Ask about our offer if you are interested. Customers who do not comply will pay € 5 excl. VAT per participant for cleaning/waste disposal.
  • Shortly before the event, we will contact you again to confirm the final number of participants. If the number of participants should still change after that, you can let us know up to 7 days before the event. After that, we consider the number of participants final. So please tell us in good time.
  • The final number of participants can be at most 20% lower than the original number given for the advance invoice.
  • At the start of the activity, we provide a welcome drink for each participant (soft drink/coffee/tea, no alcoholic drinks). If more than one drink per person is taken, we will invoice the extra drinks afterwards.
  • On the way, we make a drinks stop at a village pub. Each participant gets a drink there with a maximum value of € 4. Let us know in advance if you want to deviate from this; we can then invoice the extra cost afterwards.
  • At the end of the activity, we provide a closing drink for each participant. If more than one drink per person is taken, we will invoice the extra drinks afterwards.
  • In case of late payment, a reminder fee of € 20 is payable from the 2nd payment reminder. The default interest is 10,5%.
