NEW! - 2CV Kids Challenge

2CV & CO

Haboe, hop in the goat and the Boeboeks…

New collaboration between 2CV&CO and Marc de Bel

With the start of the summer season, 2CV&CO is launching a brand-new concept aimed at children up to 12. We already knew that driving a 2CV through the beautiful landscape of the Flemish Ardennes is fun for young and old. Now we are adding an extra dimension, making it even more fun for primary school children.

A few years ago, we at 2CV&CO started the 2CV Challenge, a kind of escape room in reverse. In this challenge, participants set off not just with a roadbook, but with 3 locked chests. By completing challenges along the way, they can open the combination locks of these chests one by one and finally open the 4th, the finale chest. Mission accomplished! The success of this formula got us thinking about something similar specifically for children.

To dress such a challenge in a child-friendly outfit, we soon ended up with Marc de Bel, our well-known "home-grown" Flemish author. We liked the idea of working with the Boeboeks, Marc's adorably cheeky little nature creatures. We put our heads together and Marc saw the ideal combination with his first book, "Het web van de Suikerspin" (The Web of the Sugar Spider). This story is about a gravely ill Piepel who can only be saved by tea made from the web of the Suikerspin. The search for the web is a dangerous quest that his sister Soeza undertakes to save her brother…

The game concept "Save Piepel" asks participants to help Soeza and takes them along the small roads through the hills of the Flemish Ardennes. During the trip, the candidates are drawn ever deeper into the story and, just like Soeza, gradually get one step closer to saving Piepel… They set off with a locked chest, which they can open at the first stop by solving a riddle. In this chest, Piepel's would-be rescuers find the next stage, to the Muziekbos. A short walk in this wood and a riddle there allow them to open the next little chest. In this chest is a locked cryptex, containing the web of the Suikerspin. The penultimate stage takes them to Volkegem. In the Volkegembos, they can crack the code of the cryptex by following a map through the wood and putting a number of photos in the right order. Once the cryptex is open, they drive back to the starting point, hopefully in time to save Piepel…

If they manage to save Piepel, our heroes receive a lovely "Boeboek reward" from Zoeneblom. A cool Boeboek T-shirt, cuddly toy, board game or book…

To complete the picture, we called on Frieda Van Raevels, Marc's illustrator. She created a lovely cover and a fantastimastic design to brighten up a little goat. We christened this goat "Haboe", the typical greeting among the Boeboeks.

We hope this game concept gets children away from their screens by giving them a great experience. Not only in the 2CV, but also through the short walks and challenges in the woods of the Flemish Ardennes…
