This plastic car is based on the chassis and engine of a Citroën 2CV, with a body made of ABS plastic. The name refers to the word méhariste, a French colonial soldier from Algeria who rides a dromedary.
The Méhari is best known because it featured heavily in the various Le Gendarme films with Louis de Funès.
Our 1975 Méhari has undergone a complete renovation and is a gleaming white. It seats 4 people and has lap belts in the front; there are currently no belts in the back, but we are looking into fitting them. For now, we therefore do not recommend carrying small children on the back seat.
The doors, sides and roof can be removed completely, although this does take a little while.
