Oude Kwaremont
The Oude Kwaremont is a climb in the Belgian municipality of Kluisbergen. The ascent runs through the village of Kwaremont, which gives the climb its name. To the west of the top of the Kwaremont lies the Knokteberg, to the east the higher Hotondberg.
The first 600 m is a narrow tarmac road; the remaining 1,600 m is cobbled. The cobbles of the Oude Kwaremont have been a listed monument since 1993.
The total length of the Kwaremont from foot to summit is 2,516 m!
The Oude Kwaremont features in many Flemish cycling races. In the Tour of Flanders it is one of the climbs where the race is decided. It is also regularly included in Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, the E3 Prijs, Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne, Dwars door Vlaanderen and the Three Days of West Flanders.
