In the back garden of the Flemish Ardennes lies the Pays des Collines. Never heard of it? That is hardly surprising. It is a lesser-known but spectacularly beautiful region. The landscape is vast, the views quite breathtaking. And above all: the area has an atmosphere that takes you back decades in time.
In the morning, you and your party head for the peaceful countryside beyond Ronse towards Frasnes. Through sweeping fields, with silence all around you.
We take our lunch break in Ath. Here is a personal tip: make a 10-minute detour and visit the town. We are happy to give you a few addresses for lunch. Not in the mood for a mini city break? Then simply picnic along the way.
In the afternoon you get a drink in a few village pubs or at the Quintine brewery. Also well worth a visit, by the way.
Via Flobecq and Ellezelles you head back towards the Flemish Ardennes, arriving in Kluisbergen after around 100 kilometres.
